Key Goals

  1. Identify if any history of legal/offending issues may prevent the service user from accessing certain housing and progression options and establish steps to address these issues.
  2. Ensure that the service user is aware of possible consequences of unaddressed legal issues such as warrants and provide support in addressing these if appropriate.
  3. Ensure that the service user has sufficient information and under-standing of any legal processes / court cases involving them.

A history of, or current involvement in, offending behaviour can impact negatively on a service user’s housing options. It is important to support the service user in clarifying their rights and responsibilities in addressing legal issues and offending behaviour. It is also important to clarify the impact of legal issues and offending behaviour on both housing options and drug treatment options.
