Additional Information

The Aids Fund Housing Project provides 24 self contained apartments for single people and couples in the later stages of Aids related illness, who are homeless or unsuitably housed. Staff and volunteers provide 24 hour care, advice on living skills, cooking, housekeeping and medical regimens. They also support residents to access training and employment. Referrals must come through the hospital social work department. All applications must have a social and medical report completed by the relevant professional.

Referral Procedure

Named agencies only. Contact in writing. Application form completed by agency and applicant prior to interview. Placed on waiting list. Must provide periodic social and medical reports.

Referral Agencies

Accept referrals from named agencies including the social work department of St James, Mater and Beaumont Hospitals.

5 full-time staff, available daily 9am-9pm and emergency on-call system. 33 volunteers provide sleep-in cover. Staff visit as agreed between staff and resident. High level of support including help with living skills, medical requirements, access to training and employment.
