Additional Information

Aoibhneas Women's Refuge provides emergency accommodation in 10 self contained units for single women and women with children, who are escaping domestic violence. The refuge accepts self referrals and referrals from any agency, by phone 24 hours a day. Support is provided through a keywork system. Three child care workers are available to residents. The length of stay depends on the support needs of each family.

Support

2 support staff on duty at all times, 24 hour cover. Key worker/childcare worker assigned to each family. Staff offer emotional support and training in life skills, in addition to making referrals to outside agencies as appropriate. Information provided on housing and legal issues. Playroom facility with three childcare workers from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

Health

Access to local GP, CWO and referral to local counselling service.

Confidential address. Directions are given once referral is accepted.

One adapted bathroom (not within self contained unit).

Tenure

Residents must sign agreement. No alcohol/drugs allowed on the premises. Must attend residents' meetings. Must take part in cleaning rota.
